Background

I have been working in the mental health and wellness field for over 15 years, and have around 20 years of education and training.

I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University in San Francisco (accredited by American Psychological Association, APA) and my BA in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. My dissertation examined the influence of culture and religion among first-generation Hindu Asian Indian American perspectives on psychotherapy (available at ProQuest). I'm licensed by the California Board of Psychology (PSY26478).

I have worked with diverse clientele in group practice, school, hospital, and community mental health settings across northern and southern California. A few of these sites include Crossroads Institute for Psychotherapy and Assessment, Langely Porter Psychiatric Hospital, and DeAnza High School.

My specialized training includes extensive seminars at the C.G. Jung Institute and the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis in Los Angeles, where I both received certificates. At the Children's Institute Inc. in Long Beach, I received postdoctoral training and a certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

In 2019, I graduated from the three year Somatic Experiencing® training program and became a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). More recently, in 2023, I completed a KAP Theory and Methodology training through Fluence and the Foundational EMDR Therapy training through the Institute for Creative Mindfulness.
