Adults might come to therapy for many different reasons (e.g., social anxiety, trauma resolution, an eating disorder). After treatment aims are obtained, you may choose to end services or continue to further deepen the therapeutic process.
The adolescent years are all about juggling responsibilities and emotions as one transitions toward adult independence. Psychotherapy is an excellent place for a teenager's voice to be heard. I treat individuals as young as 10 years old. (If you are under 18 years old, please know that I will need consent from a parent, but we can discuss how involved you would like them to be in the process.)
Like individual therapy, families seek psychotherapy for a wide variety of reasons. Concerns may include, shifts in family structure, adjusting to a new town, or perhaps a family member is struggling, and the family unit wants to strengthen ties in order to provide better support. Goals are commonly to strengthen bonds, gain better clarity of the family dynamic, and improve communication.
There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. -Anais Nin
Sessions: My private practice is primarily for individuals and families seeking weekly or every-other-week psychotherapy.
At this time, only remote sessions through HIPAA compliant, encrypted video platforms are utilized. (No in-person meetings.)
The initial appointment typically lasts an hour, and the following sessions are approximately fifty-five minutes.
Fee: The fee is $150 per session for individuals and families. I reserve a small portion of my practice for reduced fee clients. If you need a reduced fee due to financial reasons, please let me know. If available, I will do my best to accommodate you. I accept cash, check and all major credit cards as a form of payment (cash or check are most preferred).
Insurance: I am in-network with a few health insurance companies (i.e., Aetna, MHN/Health Net). If you would like to use your insurance, please inquire about my current in-network status.
Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, it is possible for services to be covered in full or in part. Please contact your provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services. I'd recommend asking these questions to your provider to help determine your benefits: Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits? Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet? Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit? Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?
If I am not in-network with your insurance company, please know that most PPO plans offer partial reimbursement for services. I can furnish you with a superbill for you to submit for reimbursement.
Cancellation Policy: If you are unable to attend an appointment, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. If not, you will be charged a cancellation fee.
Accessing Administrative Information: For existing clients, please login to the client portal to view consent forms, invoices, or pay a bill.
